Tiffany Hemmer5 StarI recently visited Von's Carstar and had an exceptional experience! Over the past couple of weeks I had been in touch with Vince regarding my 2015 Toyota Corolla. I needed a fender replaced. Not only were they able to find the exact fender, but they were able to color match and complete the install same day! I could not be happier with how everything came out. I mean, just look at the before and after pictures. I literally had everything taped in place before.

Allison B2 StarI took my truck here because my insurance company advised that Von’s CarStar is contracted with Farmers and, as such, Farmers will warranty the work AND as a contracted company Von’s CarStar will expedite the repairs. Tom wrote up my estimate on March 4th. Because he needed to order after market parts, he told me to bring it in on April 1st and plan on 6 days, give or take. Once it was taken apart, I was informed that one additional part was needed; that part arrived on the 8th. Since then, I have been told story after story when I call for a status update. I was told it was painted on a Friday, and just needed to be reassembled. When I followed up early the following week, I was told it was being painted (despite being told it had been painted the previous Friday) and still “on track to be done on the 23rd.” No one EVER communicated to me that I was looking at more than three weeks from the day I dropped it off. After that, I was told it was being reassembled (again). On Wednesday the 17th, Patrick phoned me because I was livid and said he was going to do his best to have it done on Friday the 19th. Shortly before close of business on Friday he phoned, apologized, and said everything is done, but it needs to be buffed and detailed and I would definitely have it back on Monday. Guess, what? No one called me, so I called at 4:55 and was told…wait for it…it’s being reassembled! And Patrick has left for the day. I asked to speak to Tom who said they had noticed a “few things that were missing” which caused a delay but he couldn’t tell me precisely what those few things were. He said he needed to finish an estimate he’s writing but he will call me tomorrow. Three times now, I have put an afternoon on hold, waiting for the call so that I can return my rental car and pick up my truck. The lack of truthful communication is appalling.
If you choose to use this company be sure to pack your patience. My patience has run out. And I still don’t have my truck.
UPDATE: The saga did not end with the eventual return of my truck after 23 days. While I originally thought that the work was done well, unfortunately it was not complete. My mechanic found 3 items immediately: the torn inner fender liner was not replaced so wiring that should be secured were left dangling; the headlight fillers had been pulled off – presumably when they removed the grill – and were put back on with no clips so they continually popped off; and most obvious (or should have been to Von’s) the windshield wiper fluid bottle was left exposed when it should have been covered with a shield. And believe it or not, Von’s poured an inch of windshield wiper fluid into the bottle – like it would have killed them to fill it up! What a joke. Fortunately, the collision shop at Watson made all of the repairs that Von’s had neglected. Regarding the owner's response to my original review, I hope I never get into another car accident, but if I do I would rather go anywhere other than Von’s CarStar.Saturday 29th June 2024
